ChatGPT Ads minimum budget by country: the full currency table
Last updated: August 24, 2026, verified against official OpenAI documentation. The product is in beta: we consistently separate what OpenAI documents from what circulates as third-party observation.
Our ChatGPT Ads pricing page documents the principle: every campaign has a minimum daily spend, and that floor varies by the ad account's billing currency. This page brings together the full table, currency by currency, so you do not have to rebuild it yourself.

The table of daily minimums by currency
OpenAI publishes a Minimum Campaign Spend table in the Help Center, organized by the account's billing currency. Here are the amounts we were able to verify:
| Currency | Typical market | Daily minimum |
|---|---|---|
| USD | United States | $25 |
| GBP | United Kingdom | £15 |
| CAD | Canada | C$25 |
| AUD | Australia | A$25 |
| NZD | New Zealand | NZ$25 |
| BRL | Brazil | R$40 |
| MXN | Mexico | MX$150 |
| JPY | Japan | ¥2,500 |
| KRW | South Korea | ₩25,000 |
| INR | India | ₹725 |
For the euro and other currencies not listed here, check the up-to-date table inside your Ads Manager when you create a campaign: the Help Center notes the list can change, and we would rather not lock in a figure we could not verify at the source at the time of publishing.
This floor is daily, not total
This amount is a minimum daily spend per campaign, not a total minimum budget to open an account. A one-week campaign billed in dollars therefore needs to budget at least 25 × 7 = $175 over the period, not $25 in total.
A useful reminder from our ChatGPT Ads pricing page: this floor applies whether you choose a campaign-total budget or a daily budget. The daily budget itself is a delivery target, not a hard cap: actual spend can fluctuate above or below the chosen amount from one day to the next.
The currency is set once, at account creation
The point with the most practical consequences: the ad account's billing currency is permanently locked at creation. It cannot be changed afterwards. The daily minimum that applies to you follows directly from that initial choice, and stays that way for as long as the account exists.
For an agency managing several client accounts in different currencies, that means the real floor differs from one account to another, even at an identical strategic budget. Check the billing currency before comparing two accounts against each other.
What changed: no more $200,000 entry ticket
A lot of content published in the first half of 2026 still cites a $200,000 minimum spend to access ChatGPT Ads. That floor, in force at the February 2026 launch, was removed on May 5, 2026 with the opening of US self-service. The minimums in this table, on the order of a few dozen dollars a day, are the ones that have applied since.
If a source still claims today that you need six figures to test ChatGPT Ads, it has not been updated since May 2026.
Building a test budget with these minimums
A simple method, resting only on documented reference points:
- Identify the billing currency your account will use, and the matching daily minimum in the table above.
- Multiply that minimum by the test duration you are planning to get the real floor for the period, not just the daily floor.
- Add a margin to cover the learning phase: a budget set exactly at the minimum leaves little room to adjust the bid without interrupting delivery.
- Compare that amount with OpenAI's recommended starting bid ($3 to $5 per click for CPC, detailed on our ChatGPT Ads pricing page) to estimate a testable click volume.
What is not publicly documented
Points we flag as unconfirmed for lack of an official source:
- The minimum in euros and in other currencies not listed above could not be verified at the source at the time this page was published: check your Ads Manager.
- How often OpenAI updates this table is not published.
- No automatic currency conversion rule is documented: each account stays in the currency chosen at creation.
